Edward Lee "Eddie" Bishop

Edward Lee "Eddie" Bishop, 79, of North Vernon, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at his residence.
Born July 13, 1943, in Columbus, he was the son of Raymond and Betty (Bowman) Bishop. He married Rena Wilson on September 25, 1963, in Columbus; she preceded him death.
Eddie served in the United States Army where he received his GED. He worked for Statler Meat Packing in Columbus for 25 years and had also worked for Brooks and Earl Construction and Mike Whitehead. Eddie enjoyed sightseeing, especially Madison, telling jokes and stories. He loved going to Walmart and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Troy (Jennifer) Bishop of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Joey (Julie) Bishop and Scott (Sandy) Bishop, both of North Vernon; his daughter, Lora Bishop of North Vernon; twelve grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister, Darlena Abner.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in the Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Columbus with Tamara Aubuchon officiating. Arrangements were in care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Eddie through the funeral home to the donor's choice of organization.
