Publish in a newspaper

Edward C. Burnett, 80, of Harrisburg, Missouri, passed away surrounded by loved ones. He was the son of Norma (Powers) Burnett and Lonnie Burnett, and was born on April 22, 1945, in McBaine, Missouri.

Edward was a man who found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life. He was an avid fisherman who loved spending quiet hours by the water, and he had a deep affection for horses. A devoted fan of classic Westerns, Edward never missed an episode of Gunsmoke, his all-time favorite show. More than anything, he cherished his family, his greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren, and he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.

He is survived by his loving partner, Darlene of Harrisburg; daughters, Becky Burnett of Harrisburg and Tammy (Troy) Wray of Columbia; Desarae Burnett of Rocheport. Edward is also survived by three grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, and one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Randy, his sister Sue, and his grandson Zack.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Nilson-Millard Cremation and Burial Center in Columbia. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place immediately after the service at Bethlehem Cemetery in Harrisburg, Missouri.
