Edward Carn Obituary

Edward "Ed / Eddie" Harold Carn, 65, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Eddie was born on January 20, 1960, in Sandusky, Ohio to Harold and Louise Carn. He grew up in a small farmhouse with his five siblings, where he learned the value of hard work, laughter and simple joy of gathering around a crowded kitchen table.
Eddie was known for his deep love and unwavering commitment to his family. His strong work ethic, quick sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and generous heart shaped every part of his life. Eddie proudly served 20 years in the United States Navy as an Engineman, dedicating himself to his shipmates and to the mission. After retiring from active duty, he continued his service for another 18 years with the Military Sealift Command, where he brought the same dedication, skill, and pride to his work. Those who knew Eddie will remember him not only for his service, but for the way he cared for others-with kindness, loyalty, and a readiness to help whenever he was needed.
He married the love of his life, My Carn, on June 25, 1992. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with devotion, humor, and a deep commitment to family. Their home was always open to friends, neighbors, and anyone who needed a warm meal or a listening ear.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 33 years, My Carn; his beloved children, Huy Lac, Coung Lac, Hao Lac, Binh Lac, Tommy Bui and Kim Nguyen; his mother, Louise Salyers; his sisters, Christine Farson and Lisa Fisher; his brothers, Dave Carn, Allen Carn, and Rick Carn; his sisters-in-law, Deb Carn and Kim Carn; his brother-in-law, Paul Fisher; along with his treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of his love, his laughter, and the many moments he shared with them.
He is reunited in peace with those who passed before him: his father, Harold Carn; his stepfather, Vernon Salyers; his brother-in-law, Larry Farson; his son, Chi Lac, his grandparents; and many other dear loved ones who welcomed him home.
Eddie will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew him.
