Dudley/East Palm Beach, FL: Edward R. Chausse, beloved father, son, brother, and friend, of Myrtlewood Circle, formally of Dudley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 29th, after a hard-fought battle with cancer at the age of 58.
He leaves his daughter Morgan Stanhope and her husband, Jesse Stanhope Jr, of North Grosvenordale, CT; his mother, Barbara (Desrosiers) Chausse of Southbridge; his sisters, Debra Desaulniers and her longtime partner Ronald Duff of Southbridge, Denise Porrazzo and her husband Edward of Southbridge, Paula LeClair and her husband Paul of Webster, and Cheryl Sergal and her husband Paul of Webster; his cherished granddaughter, Stella Stanhope; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his half-sister, Donna.
Edward was born in Webster, the son of the late Roger Chausse. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He later earned an Associate's Degree in Telecommunications from ITT Technical Institute and worked for Ledcor Telecommunications before retiring due to illness. Edward had a passion for cooking. He owned and operated Eddie's Rolling Bistro food truck for many years and worked as a chef at a country club, local establishments, and private events. During COVID, he shared his love for cooking through videos with friends. Although he sold his food truck upon his diagnosis, he took pride in achieving his dream. Edward loved the outdoors, enjoying camping, boating, and motorcycle rides. One of his proudest moments was working with Verizon to restore cell phone communications for emergency workers on September 11th. While known for his business and community endeavors, few knew he also had a remarkable gift for writing poetry.
Edward touched many lives in Massachusetts and Florida. The family extends their deepest gratitude to his friends in Florida who supported him and a special thanks to Peter for opening his home, allowing Edward to spend his last days comfortably with family.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 9th, at 11:00am in the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in Waldren Cemetery, Dudley. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Monday, July 8th, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Ride free into the heavens, Eddie. You are loved and missed by many.
