Theresa D. Moriarty

Norwich, CT: Theresa D. "Terry" (Schappert) Moriarty, 74, of Crescent St., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 20th, in the Complete Care Groton Regency, Groton, CT, after a long battle with dementia.

She leaves her husband Paul J. Moriarty; Paul's son, Mark J. Moriarty; Paul's daughter, Kathleen Lamontagne and her husband Jeff; her sister, Peggy Carlucci and her husband Rich; Paul's five grandson's, Justin Lamontagne, Jeremy Lamontagne, Mark Moriarty II, Timothy Moriarty and Zachary Moriarty; Paul's four great grandchildren; her niece, Lauren Carlucci; and her nephews, Christopher Carlucci, Billy Schappert and Barry Schappert. She was predeceased by her brother, Bill Schappert and Paul's granddaughter, Mariah Moriarty. Terry was born in New York, NY the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Anna Marie (McGinness) Schappert.

Terry worked as a dispatcher for many years in the limousine business. Later years she traveled with her husband in the boating industry, financing boats. She enjoyed all of the New England sports teams, especially the UConn Girls Basketball Teams.

Her husband would like to thank Joanna who for 2 years was Terry's at home care giver. He would also like to thank the staff at Groton Regency for their fine care and giving her dignity in her final path through life.

A Funeral Mass for Terry will be held on May 1st, 2026 (Friday) at 10:00am in St. Patrick's Cathedral, 213 Broadway, Norwich, CT. Burial will follow on May 1st, 2026 at 1:30pm in St. Mary's Cemetery, Charlton St., Southbridge, MA. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
