Edward R Connolly

Edward R. Connolly, 79, of Long Valley, NJ passed away peacefully on September 12, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side.
Edward was born on October 10, 1944 in Morristown, NJ to the late William and Mary Connolly.
He was a graduate of Morristown High School. Edward married the love of his life Joanne DeVenezia in 1967. Together they celebrated 56 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2023. Edward resided in Long Valley, NJ for the past 44 years where he and Joanne raised their family. He was employed as a Printing Manager for Beneficial Financial Corp., retiring in 1996. Edward enjoyed home improvement projects and maintaining his property of 4 acres. He also enjoyed farming and taking care of the horses. Hay Day was a family favorite where work intertwined with pleasure. He was an avid horse race fan and played the pick 3 lottery daily. He was passionate about music, particularly from the 1950's. Above all, he loved cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. Family was everything to him. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving daughters; Melinda Drake and her fiancé Tony Norris and Suzanne Stephani and her husband Michalis Stephani. His cherished grandchildren; Brittany Drake, Amber Drake and her fiancé Tom Krozser, and Maria and Nicholas Stephani, a sister, Maureen Ramsey, sister-in-laws Kathy & Madeline Connolly. In addition to his devoted wife Joanne Connolly, he is preceded in death by his brothers Thomas and William Connolly and Brother-in-law Tom Ramsey.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 5-7 PM at Maguire Memorial Home, 124 High Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Mountain Roman Catholic Church, 2 East Springtown Road, Long Valley, NJ 07853.
Edward will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at Union Cemetery in Hackettstown, NJ
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edward's name to the Gastric Cancer Foundation, PO Box 338, Millbrae, CA 94030-1907
Arrangements have been entrusted to Maguire Memorial Home.
