Edward L. Costa, 95, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia D. Dottie (Anganes) Costa with whom he shared 31 years of marriage.
He was born in Lynn, MA in1930 and was the son of the late Manuel F. and Stella S. (Lachowicz) Costa.
Ed was raised in the city of Lynn, MA and joined the military in 1947 where he served proudly in the U.S. Army with the Military Police from 1947 1969. During his military career he served in Korea, Germany, and Fort Devens, MA. He retired in 1969 at Fort Dix, NJ and moved his family to Ayer, MA. After his retirement Ed worked for various companies in the private sector, until he decided to fully retire and to enjoy life with his beloved wife Dottie. Ed was a gifted piano player and could play a tune by ear without having to rely on reading notes of music. Wherever there was a piano Ed would sit to play, which pleased many listeners. In his later years he found a love of gardening and became an avid gardener. Most of all, Ed enjoyed just spending time with his wife Dottie, family, and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Ed leaves his children, Edward L. Costa, Jr. and his wife Trudi, of Milford, NH, Dorothy (Dottie Ann) Kingston, of Granger, IN, Stella M. Lareau and her husband Michael, of Boscawen NH; his grandchildren, Adam Costa and his wife Lauren, of Beverly, MA, Michael Kingston, of United Kingdom, Mary Costa and her husband Mike, of Los Angeles, CA, Brian Kingston and his wife Brie, of Saint Robert, MO, and Amy Kingston and her fianc John, of Granger, IN. Ed also has three great-grandchildren, Nolan Costa, of Beverly, MA; Everlyn Kingston and Lucas Kingston, of Saint Robert, MO.
