I met Ed at the Wyckoff YMCA. We would talk and shoot the breeze, as the saying goes, so I learned from him that he played the guitar. No, wait a minute. He played the 7-string guitar (what ever that was, but it sounded difficult. Well he once told me where he would be performing and I went to see him but I couldn't get in. I was looking at him through the window as I stood outside. The next time I saw him I told him of my unfortunate luck of not being able to get in but I described the venue so well he knew that I had made an attempt and he seemed quite touched by the fact. So, we always chatted each other up, smiles, laughed. He was such a a gentleman. The kind you wish there were more of.

My deepest condolences to the family. I just found out and can't believe this news. I knew Mr. Decker for 18 years while working for the City of Hackensack. Always kind, always respectful, a true loss to all that knew him. Rest in peace Mr. Decker.
