Edward "Ed Carney, born on September 11, 1938, in Pennsylvania, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Charlestown. He lived a life that was filled with warmth, love, and the fulfillment of his many interests.
Ed was a devoted husband to his wife, Pam Carney, with whom he shared 25 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life that many admired, filled with laughter, companionship, and mutual respect. As a father, Ed took great pride in his role, raising his sons Rick Basil, Jack Basil, and Raoul Trudell. His love for his family was evident in all he did, always putting their needs above his own and being a constant source of support and encouragement.
Ed also cherished his sisters, Charlotte and Diane, whose bonds held a special place in his heart. He was a proud member of the Carney family, extending his affection to all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In his leisure time, Ed found joy in boating and riding motorcycles, activities that allowed him to enjoy the great outdoors and appreciate nature’s beauty. He was a dedicated fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, passionately supporting his team through every season. Ed also had a fondness for watching television, particularly westerns, and derived comfort from spending time at home, surrounded by those he loved.
Ed's legacy is defined by his unwavering love for family, his enthusiasm for life, and his generous spirit. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, leaving behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
