Edwin “Eddie” Joseph Miller was born December 23, 1931, in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Noah J. and Lizzie (Lehman) Miller. In his youth he was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church and was a member until his death. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ellen Yoder on March 20, 1951. He peacefully passed away at home on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the age of 92 years, 6 months and 22 days.
Eddie J. is survived by a daughter Anna Marie (Neal) Bontrager of Kalona; three sons, Nelson (Donna) Miller of Kalona, Alfred (Laura) Miller of Nappanee, IN, Rodger (Lorena) Miller of Bourbon, IN, son-in-law Earl T. (Sylvia) Miller of Windsor, MO; 27 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and two sisters, Susie Miller and Katie Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, daughter, Carol Miller, infant son Waldo James, grandson Albert E. Miller, two great grandsons, four brothers, Truman, Levi, Freeman, Ezra; and a sister, Mary Magdalena.
Funeral service will be held 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Neal Bontrager residence at 5570 Eagle Ave SW in rural Kalona. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and will continue all day on Wednesday at the Neal Bontrager residence. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for Eddie and his family.
