Edward R. Hicks, 74 of Gibsonburg passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
He was born on December 15, 1949 to the late Ralph E. and Kathleen (Lowery) Hicks in Toledo.
A 1967 graduate of Gibsonburg High School, Ed went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He retired from Streacker Tractor Sales in 2006 after a 30 year career. He was also a lifelong farmer and member of Zion Lutheran Church in Perrysburg.
On November 29, 1974, he married Susan Schulte at Zion Lutheran Church in Perrysburg, and have shared over 49 years together.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Susan; children, Keith Hicks of Gibsonburg and Kelly (Dan) Maxson of New Carlisle; grandchildren, Calvin Hicks, Tommy Maxson, and Luke Maxson; and sisters, Lynne (Albert) Wolfe, Mary Day, and Loralee Grimes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Kathleen.
Visitation for Ed will be held on Wednesday, January 17 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at the Herman-Veh Funeral Home & Crematory, Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 18 beginning at 11:00am with an hour of visitiation prior to services. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Edward's name may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, Perrysburg, the Gibsonburg American Legion Post #17, or to the Donor's Choice.
