Edward M. Hirsch, age 74, late of Fountain, MI, passed away July 20, 2024. Ed was born July 30,1949 and grew up in Tinley Park, IL, where he spent most of his life. He married the love of his life, Kathryn in 1976, and together they raised their children just down the street from their childhood homes. Ed ran a family business, working with two of his brothers, children, nephews, and friends as a Union Millwright. Ed and Kathy made their next home on a water front in 2012 and retired at their lake house on Ford Lake, in Fountain, MI.
Ed was an avid fisherman, golfer, and sports fan. He enjoyed cooking breakfast, playing Cribbage and "Charlie", snowmobiling and "lake life". Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren. Ed will be remembered by friends and family for his keen sense of humor and quick wit.
Beloved husband of the late Kathryn Ann Hirsch. Loving father of Christopher (Jorilyn) Hirsch, Amie (Chad) Inabinet, Edward (Lauren) Hirsch, and Thomas (Kelsea) Hirsch. Cherished grandfather of Kyle, Joshua; Noah, Caleb; Finnian, Eloise; and Wyatt. Caring brother of Joe (Cheryl) Hirsch, late Don (late Mary) Hirsch, late Dave (Louise) Hirsch, and late Steve (Jeanne) Hirsch. Dear son of the late Calvin and the late Lucille Hirsch. Kind uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Visitation, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 S. Harlem Ave. Tinley Park, IL 60477. Prayers at the Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. to St. Geroge Church for 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass, 6707 175th St. Tinley Park, IL 60477. Interment will be Private.
