Edward F. Hoch, Sr., a cherished family man and respected community member, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023, at the age of 80. Born in 1943, in Trenton, NJ, to the late Edward J. Hoch and Anna Hoch, Edward's life was one marked by dedication, warmth, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.
Edward's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife of 58 years, Veronica Hoch, of Hamilton. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter, creating a home that was always welcoming. Edward's legacy continues through his devoted son, Edward F. Hoch, Jr., and daughter-in-law Diana Hoch of Hamilton; his loving daughter, Marcella Gnandt, and son-in-law Jeff Gnandt of Washington Crossing, PA. His joy was multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren, Matthew, Joseph Hoch, and Parker Gnandt, who brought immense happiness and pride to his life.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Miller of Hamilton, and brother-in-law, Robert Giovanelli of Plato, MO. Edward's life was enriched by the presence of his nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who will miss his kindhearted nature. He was predeceased by his sister, Anna Marie Giovanelli, and brother-in-law, Roy Miller, who both held special places in his heart.
Edward's professional life was characterized by hard work and dedication. He retired from the Hamilton Township Public Works Department as a Mechanic after 30 years of committed service. His colleagues knew him as a man who could always be relied upon, a trait that extended well beyond his professional endeavors.
An avid NASCAR fan, Edward's passion for the sport was evident to all who knew him. He could often be found cheering on his favorite drivers, sharing this enthusiasm with his family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Those who knew Edward would describe him as loving, kind, and generous. His actions spoke volumes, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer a word of support. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, and his influence will be felt for generations to come.
Edward's life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of family. He was a man who cherished every moment, who saw the best in people, and who left the world a better place through his kindness. His memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
Family and friends are invited to a gathering to celebrate his memory on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave, Hamilton, NJ.
