Edward Joseph Hulsman, age 90 of Louisville passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
Edward Joseph Hulsman, age 90, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Edward was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, serving upon the USS Monterey. He was a skilled electrician and proud member of the IEBW local 369. Edward was the owner of Neon Art Signs. He was a member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church for 57 years. His civic accomplishments include being inducted into the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels, appointed as a Constable, and recently being named Citizen of the Year in his neighborhood community of Schnitzelburg, Louisville, KY. Edward also served as President of both the All Wool and Yard Wide Democratic Club and Mose Green Democratic Club.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 64 years, Mary F. Hulsman; son, Edward J. Hulsman, Jr.; daughter, Karen Sidebottom (Danny); daughter, Debbie Lawson (Robert); son, Steven Hulsman (Laura); and sister, Mary A. Allgeier. Also, sharing in his legacy are 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Frank H. and Mary (Koenig) Hulsman; and siblings, Frank Hulsman, Theresa Anderson, and Helen Jones.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, August 5, 2024 at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 5915 Outer Loop, Louisville, KY 40219. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. The family will gather with friends for visitation from 2 PM until 8 PM on Sunday, August 4 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd., Louisville, KY 40218.
