Edward Joseph Kirkley passed away on October 28, 2025 at the age of 68 after battling Multiple Myeloma and Parkinson's Disease. He was born on May 23, 1957 to Daniel E. Kirkley, Jr. and Ethel Ravannack Kirkley. Although he had many drafting jobs, he especially loved his job at the New Orleans Sewage and Water Board, where he worked with his great friend, Nanette. Even though he was retired and gravely ill, he still worked on his plans to fix the system. He enjoyed car racing and performing stand-up comedy at various southern venues. He loved Donald Trump, cigars, the Scriptures and never missed his favorite TV show Jeopardy. He only ate Popeye's chicken and smoothies from Smoothie King- they will miss him!

Eddie is survived by his brothers Thomas E. Kirkley (Karen) and Mark M. Kirkley (Deborah) and his sister Judy Kirkley Spindel (Keith, Sr.); his aunt, Sonia Ravannack Braud; nephews, Daniel, David, Keith, Jr. and niece, Sara. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lionel and Edna Ravannack, Sr., his paternal grandparents Daniel and Maria Kirkley, Sr., his parents and nephew Korey.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier, 444 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a Mass. A private burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Blood Cancer United, Attn: Donor Services, PO Box 98011, Washington D.C. 20090-8011. Arrangements entrusted to Tharp Funeral Home. Expressions of love and sympathy may be placed and viewed at www.tharpcares.com.
