Sidney Alford Holt III

Sidney Alford Holt III, age 82, peacefully entered eternal rest on October 29, 2025. Born in New Orleans Louisiana, he raised his family in River Ridge and spent his retired years on his 10-acre farm in Covington.

Sidney married Judy Diane Durr on November 28, 1964, and for more than 60 years, they stood side by side through every joy and challenge, truly inseparable in every sense of the word.

Sidney was a Veteran of the Army and served in the Army National Guard, 256 AVN Company.

He was retired from a career as a Senior Structural Designer working for J. Ray McDermott, Avondale Shipyards, and PAI.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy; their children Sidney A. Holt IV and Sandy A. Holt; grandchildren Brittany Holt, Dustin Holt, Sidney Holt V, and Callie Mae O'Bryant; and three great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation beginning at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70001.
