Edward D. Klapp, Jr. of Carmel, NY, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on August 14, 1936, in Yonkers, NY, Edward was a beacon of strength and love for his family and friends.
Edward was predeceased by his beloved parents, Edward and Mary (Brozman) Klapp, and his cherished wife, Marguerite, who was the cornerstone of his life until her passing in 2013. His legacy continues through his devoted daughter, Debra Boccarossa, his son, Edward, and his adored grandson, Michael, who brought him immeasurable joy. Has was also predeceased by Debra's husband Dario just last year.
Edward was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served active duty from 1954-57 during the Korean Conflict. A gifted mechanical engineer, Edward's career was marked by dedication and excellence. His colleagues respected him for his expertise and his unwavering commitment to his profession. Edward's work ethic was only matched by his passion for his family, country, and the community he served.
An active member of the Mahopac Golf Club, Edward found solace and camaraderie on the greens. His love for the game was second only to the love he held for his family. Edward's life was a testament to the values he held dear: loyalty, honesty, and the importance of relationships.
Above all, Edward idolized his late wife, Marguerite. Their partnership was a true love story, one that continued to guide him even after her passing. He often shared memories of their life together, keeping her spirit alive for his children and grandson.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 24th at 11:30 AM at St. John The Evangelist Church in Mahopac. Interment with military honors will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, NY.
