Edward Lazarin

1945 - 2023

Edward Lazarin, 78, of Salem, CT was tragically lost on September 5, 2023. Born August 18, 1945, in Hartford, CT, to Felix and Edna Lazarin, Ed was a life-long resident of Connecticut.

An avid motorsports enthusiast, Ed could be seen riding motorcycles from a young age, raced Formula 4 cars and rode with America's Freedom Defenders. His hobby of wood-turning was one of many skills he developed over the years working with his hands. That same work ethic helped build a successful small business and act as a mentor to young men, both as a Boy Scout leader and football coach. An extremely proud veteran of the US Army, Ed served honorably in Vietnam.

A loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, Ed leaves behind his great love, reason for living and cherished wife of 55 years, Diane; son Eric and his wife Trish, daughter Kimberly and her husband Jeffrey. He was best known as Papa/Grandpa to his pride and joys, Samantha, Ethan, Taylor, Evan and Hunter. Ed is also survived by his brother Steven, nieces, cousins and friends. Whether conversations about NASCAR, car engines or places he's visited, you could always count on Eddie to share his knowledge, but most of all, care deeply for those he loved.

Celebration of Ed's Life will be on Saturday Sept 30, 2:00-4:00 at the Thomas L Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic.
