Edward Donald Mabry, 98, of Ardmore, Oklahoma was born on October 6, 1927, in Mountain View, Oklahoma to Willie "Bill" Franklin and Edith Mae (Boyd) Mabry. Donald looked upon the face of his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Ardmore Veteran's Center, in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Donald married his best friend and sweetheart, Roberta Rogers on May 28, 1949, at their pastor's home in Carnegie, Oklahoma. They spent seventy-six wonderful years of life and marriage together. Roberta preceded him in death on July 25, 2025.
Donald served his country in the United States Army from March 3, 1952, to March 22, 1960, proudly serving with the 102nd Infantry Regiment, and was honorably discharged as Corporal.
Following Donald's military service, he worked with various families across several states, in the seismograph and oil field industry. He was a man of many talents and enjoyed his oilfield career, life on the farm and construction work. Later in life, Donald and Roberta both worked together at a service station in
Elk City, Oklahoma.
Donald enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, and working on old tractors. He would tinker with old radios and electronics to see if he could get them working again, and he did! Donald was a loving, caring man who was known to bring home wounded animals and wildlife and nurse them back to health.
Donald was a faithful Christian and let everyone know that his beloved wife, Roberta was his faith in God. He was quick to share stories and offer a helping hand to those in need. Donald treasured spending time with his family and friends and was kind, soft spoken, and a blessing to all who knew and loved him, he will be deeply missed.
