Edward MacLeod 96, of Bantam, CT, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Catherine (Deegan) MacLeod for 70 years.
Ed was born January 31, 1928, in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late William and Harriet (Smith) MacLeod. He served his country with the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged during August of 1952. He was employed by Eastern Color Printing as a Pressman for 43 years. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.
He is survived by one son, Bruce MacLeod and his wife Carol of Northfield, CT; a daughter-in-law Lynn of Torrington; five grandchildren, Shawn, Scot, Mac, Michelle and Will; nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his two sons Donald, and Kevin, Kevin’s wife Ann and two sisters Jo Hahn and Harriet Finkenzellar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Church (Saint Louis de Montfort Parish) 715 Bantam Road, Bantam, CT 06750. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Bantam, CT with full military honors accorded. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bantam Volunteer Ambulance, P.O. Box 456, Bantam, CT 06750 or to the Oliver Wolcott Library, 160 South St., Litchfield, CT 06759.
