PONTOTOC - Edward Lee Medders, Sr., 82, passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, at his home in Pontotoc, MS. Mr. Medders was born in Doddsville, MS on September 13, 1941, to Doiss and Ruby Medders. He married Jynean Medders on March 29, 1961. A member of Harmony Baptist Church, he was saved in Clarksdale, MS in 1967. He served 8 1/2 years in the United States Navy and graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1972. He loved antiques and had several antique stores over the years, using it as a part of his ministry. He also loved to search for arrowheads, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Jynean Medders; his children, Karen Anderson (Tommy), Edward Lee Medders II (Denise), and Holly Perkins (Tom); his grandchildren, Edward L. Medders III, Ethan L. Medders (Brooke), Ezekiel L. Medders, Elias L. Medders, Makara Medders, Dawson G. McCord, Jessica Steele (Chandler), Katie Perkins, and Gracie Perkins; his great-grandchild, Jackson Steele; and his brother, Gerald D. Medders.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Doiss E. and Ruby L. Medders; and his sister, Janet Voelker.
Services will be Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 2PM at Harmony Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
