Edward Miklich Obituary

Published by Montgomery & Steward Funeral Directors Inc on Jan. 9, 2018.
Ed Miklich (1921-2018) Today we rejoice in the life of Edward M Miklich. On Jan 9, 2018, he joined his wife, Helen (1922-2014) in peaceful rest. A proud dad to Edlyn (Ed) Plute, of Colorado Springs, Mary Ann Miklich (partner, G.T.) of Pueblo; doting grandfather to Ed (Terra) Plute and Ellyn (David) Wilson; great-grandfather to the twinkles in his eye - Eira, Elam and Estes Plute and the newest member of joy, Everett Wilson, all of Lakewood, Colo.; brother to Gertrude Puntar; uncle to nieces and nephews; friends to many and adopted grandpa to "hundreds." Born June 5, 1921 in Pueblo, Colo., he always said he was a flood baby. Ed retired as Freight Agent for the C&W railway and his love of trains had him playing with railroad sets until very recently. Dad also enjoyed dancing the polka, making CDs of his favorite records which he gave to his friends to enjoy, and most of all, bowling until age of 92. A very big “thank you” and many hugs to Dr. Laurel Verant, the friends and staff at Primrose Retirement Community and to the Sangre de Cristo Hospice caregivers for surrounding him with love and compassion. To his many friends in Pueblo, thank you for being a meaningful part of his life. We all will miss his smile, sense of humor, some really bad jokes, and just being dad. Funeral Mass, 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2018, at St. Mary Church, 307 E. Mesa Ave. In lieu of flowers please consider memorials in Ed’s name to Sangre de Cristo Hospice or a charity of your choice.
