Edward Modjeska Obituary

Visit the Pagenkopf Funeral Home website to view the full obituary.

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, Ed Modjeska. Ed was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior on August 12, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Ed was the oldest child, born February 26, 1966, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Ralph and the late Nannette Modjeska. His fun-loving personality, unique sense of humor, intelligence, and God-given talent made him a go-to person for all those looking for guidance, mentoring, and deep conversation. He left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of humor, wild fashion, heartfelt worship, and a fierce loyalty and love for his family, friends, and, above all, Jesus.

Ed graduated as Valedictorian from Vincent High School in 1984 and furthered his education in business and sales at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He was blessed to be one of the smart kids without having to try, which left him time to enjoy all the things he loved.

He enjoyed many passions in his life, the first being his love for music and worship, which began in his youth as he traveled around the country playing guitar and singing music for church "happenings" and continued as a worship leader at Orchard Hill Church in Mukwonago, inspiring all who heard him. With his wife, Connie, they traveled around the world, seeing God's wonders in Israel, Italy, England, and on family vacations to Mexico. His love of swimming, cars, motorcycles, art, watches, shoes—oh, the shoes!—made him easily recognized by all. And who could forget Ironman? The joy it brought to children, who thought he was the real Ironman, was contagious!

Ed will be missed by his beloved wife, Connie Modjeska, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage; devoted father to Brayden (Amy) and Ashton (Anna) Modjeska; and adored grandfather to Marceline Modjeska. He is further survived by his father, Ralph; sister, Amy; brother, Mike; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Nannette Modjeska; uncle, Gene Ikeler; and grandparents.

Though he may not walk among us, Ed's spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched and the memories he created. His legacy of love will shine brightly in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, at Pagenkopf Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until a Celebration of Life at 3:00 PM.
