Edward Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Johnson-Williams Funeral Home on Dec. 17, 2025.
Edward Thomas "Ed" Moore, Jr., 44, of Trimble, Tennessee died on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley, Tennessee.
Born Saturday, February 7, 1981, in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Edward Thomas Moore, Sr. and Linda Scobey Moore.

Ed was a proud graduate of Dyer County High School, where he played both baseball and football. He was especially proud to be a Choctaw, often saying, "Once a Choctaw, always a Choctaw." His school pride and team spirit remained with him throughout his life.

He was a member of Trimble First Baptist Church, where he also enjoyed being part of the church softball team. His faith and fellowship were important parts of his life.

Ed dedicated 23 years of service as Sales Manager for Coca-Cola in Jackson, Tennessee. Known affectionately as "Cokeman," Ed loved his job and the people he worked with. His extreme dedication, attention to detail, and strong work ethic set him apart. For Ed, it was never just a job-it was a calling. He had a true gift for building relationships, making lifelong friends among coworkers and customers alike, all of whom knew he genuinely cared.

A true sports enthusiast, Ed was a loyal fan of the Tennessee Volunteers, Tennessee Titans, Nashville Predators, and St. Louis Cardinals. Win or lose, his loyalty never wavered.

Ed was deeply community-minded and enjoyed giving back, including playing Santa Claus for Trimble's Annual Breakfast with Santa. He never met a stranger, and "no" was simply not in his vocabulary when it came to helping others or being a friend.

Ed was also an animal lover with a tender heart. He would often take food to stray animals he saw along the way, never turning away a creature in need. He dearly loved his dogs-Prince, Tootsie, Evie, and Daisy-who were constant companions and brought him great joy.

In quieter moments, Ed enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, often joking that it helped his "old bones." Those who knew him best will remember his warmth, humor, and unmistakable presence.

Because of his giving nature and desire to help others, it was Ed's wish to be an organ donor, giving the gift of life to others. This was something deeply important to him and is a lasting reflection of the way he lived his life.

Above all else, Ed loved his family. The time he shared with them was his greatest treasure. His daughters lovingly say he was the "best daddy" a girl could ever ask for-a title he wore with pride.

Funeral services for Mr. Moore will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, December 19, 2025, in the Chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home. Officiating this service will be Dr. Rick Isbell and Rev. Tyler Neely. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of twenty-three years, Ashley Campbell Moore of Trimble, Tennessee, two daughters, Rylee Elizabeth Moore (Payton) of Tiptonville, Tennessee and Kylee Elaine "Tater" Moore (Alex) of Newbern, Tennessee; his mother, Linda Scobey Moore of Trimble, Tennessee and one brother, Steven Anthony Moore (Sara) of Obion, Tennessee and a host of extended family that he loved dearly.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother James Edward "PePe" Moore and two nephews, Gavin Tyler Gray and Charles Cotton Gray.

Honoring Mr. Moore as pallbearers will be Steven Anthony Moore, Jesse Gray, Alex Cordoza, Lynn Parker, Kevin Rea and Gary Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Moore and Kiba Lowers.
