Edward Moreau Obituary
Edward Lamar Moreau of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, passed away on April 26, 2024. He was born on April 5, 1945, in San Antonio Texas, to Lamar Joseph Moreau, Jr. and Virginia Joyce Dees Moreau. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University in 1967. Ed began his Air Force career and served twenty years, primarily as a fighter pilot. He received numerous awards and medals during his career, including the Silver Star and the distinguished Flying Cross. Upon retirement, he became a licensed Florida Realtor, ultimately owning Carriage Hills Realty South, in Santa Rosa Beach, for nineteen years. He was an active member of Crosspoint Church, first in Niceville, and then in Freeport. Ed was a founding board member of Caring and Sharing of South Walton in 1994 and served with them for many years. He was also active with the Gulf Cemetery.
Ed is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Betsy; a brother, Michael; and a sister, Renee; two daughters, Elizabeth and Stephanie, and her husband, James; and a stepdaughter, Dana, as well as eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Watercrest Senior Living, and Gentiva Hospice, for their loving care during the final years of Ed's life.
A graveside service will be held at Gulf Cemetery, in Santa Rosa Beach, on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Sam Brown, of Crosspoint Freeport, officiating.
