Edward Mullery

Edward Mullery age 58, died Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 at his home in Gurnee. He was born August 7, 1966 in Waukegan and was a lifelong Lake County resident. Edward graduated from North Chicago Community High School and he was a skilled carpenter for his entire adult life. He recently enjoyed renovating his current home. He developed an interest in watching wildlife and birds in the last few years in the birdhouses he built. Edward and his mother enjoyed a sometimes challenging, but mostly rewarding coexistence and relied on each other for the past 10 years until she died in 2024. He always made hearty delicious meals and wanted us to eat whenever we were over. Edward was a loyal friend who remained close to people even from childhood, and was also a proud Godfather to a few of their children. Edward is survived by his daughter Alisha (Ricardo) of Glendale Heights, and his sisters Margaret Ann Kutzler (Jim) of Waukegan, Catherine Mongeau of Pleasant Prairie, and his brother Patrick Mullery of Kenosha. Edward is also survived by his nieces Julia Mullery of Manitowish Waters, Heather Kutzler of Wisconsin, Jacqueline (Ryan) Mongeau of Charleston, and his nephews Trevor (Christy) Mongeau of Kenosha, and Alex Kutzler of Waukegan. And his great nephews Wolfgang Kutzler and Carter Mongeau. Edward also is survived by close friend Mike Cudahy (who was more like a brother) and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Virginia Mullery and his sister Mary Alice. Edward will be memorialized on Tuesday May 13th 4:00 pm -7:00 pm at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home 408 N Sheridan Road, in Waukegan. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity.
