Edward A. Nightingale Sr.

Edward A. Nightingale Sr. 80, of Moline, passed away October 5, 2025, at Mercy One Genesis Davenport Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday October 10, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday October 9, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Ed was born on June 10, 1945, in Moline, the son of Albert Charles and Eleanor (Lewis) Nightingale. He married Margie L. Lee on February 26, 1965, in Moline. He worked in various departments at Alcoa, retiring in 2001, after 37 years. He enjoyed traveling and camping, especially at Sunset Lakes near Joslin. Ed and Margie loved dancing with the Swinging Traveler and Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Clubs. He was a founding member of Trail-N-Squares.

Survivors include his wife, Margie; children, Pendalyn “Penny” (Donald) Dawson, East Moline, Jay Nightingale, Moline; grandchildren, Derek Dawson, Rebecca Dawson, Leean Nightingale, Levi Nightingale, Alan Nightingale; great grandchildren, Isabella, Zoey, Juleah, Elana; siblings, Yvonne Gravitt, Port Byron, Kathy Otts, Moline, Joetta (Gary) Carey, Moline, William (Deb) Nightingale, Ankeny, IA.

Ed’s life included family and a circle of friends, far too many to count.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Edward A. Nightingale Jr in 1994.
