Edward O'Brien Obituary
Born in Swampscott, son of the late Martin J. and Ellen T. (McCarthy) O’Brien, he was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1945. He also is a graduate of Northeastern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1956. He was was a lifelong resident of Lynn. He was a cost analyst for GTE Sylvania from 1964 until retiring in 1990.
Prior to that he worked was an analyst at General Electric in both the West Lynn and Allerton Street plants from 1946 until 1964. Mr. O’Brien was active with the North Shore Association of Retarded Citizens. Mr. O’Brien served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He enjoyed traveling and working in wood. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He leaves 2 sons, Richard O’Brien of Boxford and his wife Kathryn, James O’Brien of Lynn and a daughter Mary O’Brien of Melrose. Brother of Robert O’Brien of Lynn, Mary O’Brien of Lynn and Jean Moran of FL. Grandfather of Jacqueline and Anna O’Brien. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Father of the late Robert O’Brien. Brother of the late Rita Sadoski.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street Lynn on Wednesday at 10:00am. Funeral mass in Holy Family Church at 11:00 am. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Lynn.

Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home 157 Maple Street Lynn on Wednesday at 10:00am. Funeral mass in Holy Family Church at 11:00 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Friends may call on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Donations in his memory may be sent to the North Shore Association for Retarded Citizens.
