Edward G. O'Donnell, affectionately known as "EO or Eddie O," age 77 of Framingham, formerly of Natick, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025.
Born in Framingham on July 22, 1947, Eddie was the beloved son of the late Edmund B. and Virginia Garry O'Donnell. A proud graduate of Framingham High School, Eddie served his country by joining the United States Navy. He served honorably, including two years in Vietnam, and was discharged with distinction. When returning from war he proudly worked for the Town of Framingham.
Eddie grew up with his siblings Rick, Kerry, Brian, and Joel in the Saxonville section of Framingham. He was a loving father to Scott G. O'Donnell of Framingham and Mandy L. Phillips and her husband Kenneth B Phillips of Natick. His greatest joy was being a grandfather to his six grandchildren: Tyler Martell, Chandler Martell, Kenny "Junior" Phillips, Joey O'Donnell, Brooklynn Phillips and Jack O'Donnell.
Eddie found happiness spending time with family, watching his grandkids play sports, cheering on his favorite Boston sport teams, reading the Herald or a good book. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick's Church, 44 E. Central Street, Natick, on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, in Natick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a veteran's organization of your choice.
