Edward Parente

Edward Parente, 89, passed away on January 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 20, 1936, Edward lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication, hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Edward was married to his beloved wife, Ruth Parente, for 65 years. Ruth predeceased him six years earlier.

A talented entertainer, Edward performed with The Knockouts, bringing joy and music to many. He also worked at the Meadowlands, served for over 30 years as a Backstretch Sergeant, and later worked at the Town Hall of North Bergen, always taking pride in his work and service to the community.

Edward is survived by his son, Edward "Skippy" Parente, and his daughter, Mia Fox; his grandchildren, Melissa Fox Montero (and her spouse, Michael Montero) and Ross Fox (and his spouse, Angela Fox); and six cherished great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply and was immensely proud of.

In lieu of flowers, Edward's family respectfully requests that donations be made to Foster the Family, an organization that provides practical support and resources to foster, adoptive, and kinship families welcoming vulnerable children. Edward will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of music, and unwavering devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped shape and the many lives he touched.
