Edward Russell Provost, Jr, 76, of Stella, passed away peacefully with his family around him at Onslow Memorial Hospital on July 30, 2025. Edward was born on October 29, 1948 in Randolph County NC to his parents Edward and Lela Mae Wetherington Provost. He serviced his country in the US Coast Guard for 28 years before retiring as an Aircraft Mechanic Chief. After retiring from the service, he worked for over ten years at Community Lumber in Swansboro.

Edward was a Loving Devoted Family Man; he texted his grandchildren every morning and said "I Love You". He loved hunting, fishing and especially auto racing with his family for over 20 years, it was a family thing. He enjoying bird watching and just being in the outdoors viewing what God had made.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Wendy Provost. He leaves to carry on his legacy his loving wife, Sandra Butler Provost, his sons Robert Wesley Provost and his wife Tanya of Stella and Travis Gordan Provost and his wife Jennifer of Swansboro and his grandchildren who were the joy of his life; Hunter and his wife Sarah; Addison, Mylah, Riley and Jake.

A Celebration of Life with military honors by the US Coast Guard for Edward will be held Sunday August 17, 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Carteret County Speedway 501 Whitehouse Fork Road Peletier, NC
