Stephen Jacob Phillips

Stephen Jacob Phillips, III, 80, passed away at Grantsbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grantsboro, NC. where he had lived since February of this year. Stevie was born April 2, 1945 in New Bern. He was raised and lived most of his life in Maysville. He worked for a restaurant in New Bern for a period of time but he mostly along with his sister Elizabeth helped his parents. He was a devoted son and brother. He was a member of Maysville First Baptist Church.

Stevie loved to go out to eat with his friends, Robert and Beverly Evans. He loved birthday parties and there again eating cake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Jacob "Jake" and Elnita Mattocks Phillips and his sister Elizabeth Phillips. He will be remembered by Robert and Beverly and his friends from Maysville First Baptist Church and Mays Landing.

A graveside service will be held 2:00PM Monday at the Dogwood Memorial Cemetery in Maysville with Pastor Colt Allen officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his sister whom he loved so much.
