Edward William Reith, 93, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away on April 23, 2024.
Born June 24, 1930, to Charles Reith and Dorothy Schmidt, Edward grew up in the hamlet of West Hampstead on Long Island in New York. Edward spent much of his life living in Glens Falls, New York, and later in Tampa, Florida.
Edward spent his down time listening to country music or reading; he particularly enjoyed reading his local newspaper or surfing the web for articles. A proud fisherman and a skilled bowler, Edward was also a talented baker, renowned for his mean cheesecake recipe!

His memory survives on Earth with his wife: Virginia Reith, his brother: Ronald Reith, his brother-in-law: Lou Salerno, his kids: Sharon (Rick) Butto, Dennis (Vicki) Reith, and Mary L. Hagstrand, his stepchildren: Charles Rosenblum, and Scott (Beth) Galvin, his grandchildren: Barry Schiller, Jessica Badger, Martha Reith, Matthew Reith, James Hagstrand, Erica Keays, Shay DeRusso, and Adam Luaces, as well as with his several great grandchildren.

Sylvia & Marty Katz

May 11, 2025

Going through old OWLS photos the other day I found a lovely photo of Ed & Virginia on the day they married. They celebrated with late lunch at a local restaurant & my family & I were there. We treated them to their "wedding feast" & wished them much happiness. Virginia & Ed were great Northdale OWLS (Older, Wiser, Loving Seniors ). That is where they met . Two terrific people..we had the good luck to share a small part of their lives with them. Rest in peace My Friend. If anyone would like me to mail the photo to them please let me know. I am Sylvia Katz from the Northdale OWLS . We meet at the Northdale Park 1st Tuesday of most months.
