Obituary of Edward Rodriguez

Edward Rodriguez, age 50, of Plainfield, Illinois, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Edward Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Edward was born on August 4, 1975 in Aurora, IL to the late Elena Rodriguez and the step son of Jorge Rios.

Edward was a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. He enjoyed playing pool, dancing, listening to freestyle music, and relaxing with his favorite sitcoms-especially the beloved TV show Friends. A true movie enthusiast, he proudly displayed a wall filled with his extensive movie collection. Edward loved spending time with his family and friends, sharing laughs and conversation over a cold Corona. Above all, he was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Kari; children, Angelica Alvarez, Jasmine Rodriguez, Anthony Rodriguez, Desiree Rodriguez, Spencer Necas, and Amber Necas; grandchildren, Zaniyda, Cameron, and a baby granddaughter to be born in May; sisters, Monique (Will) Marcial, Angelique Rios, Erica Rios, Davina (Nathan) Ortega; brother, Jorge Rios Jr; godchildren, Isiah Soto, Jayleen Ortega, Andrew Egan Jr., Michael Egan, Jonathan Egan, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, and daughter Medasha Rodriguez.

Visitation for Edward Rodriguez will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. Due to his request, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
