Edward G. Shambo, 88, of Leesburg, Florida, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 27, 2025. Ed was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 19th, 1936. He was raised by his beloved mother Julia, who lost her husband John when Ed was only 9 years old. Ed grew up in Miami, Florida after his mother moved them to South Florida in 1945. Ed learned his work ethic early by earning money delivering newspapers and helping his mother to house missionaries on their way to South America. Ed met his sweetheart at Central Nazarene Church in Miami and married Glenda in August of 1957. Ed and Glenda were married for 68 years, and both lived out their faith by serving in several ministries. Ed's career was highlighted as a State Farm agent in Pembroke Pines, Florida where his agency thrived until he retired in August of 2000. After retirement, Ed and Glenda moved to Leesburg and enjoyed friends, family, and travel. Ed was a car fanatic, loved motorcycles, and always would lend a helping hand. He served at the Men's Center at First Baptist Church of Leesburg. He loved telling people about his love for Jesus and studying God's word.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Glenda, his son's Jim (Terri) and Todd (Kim), grandchildren Tyler, Courtney, Brooke, and Summer, and great grandchildren Hartley and T.J. Both Jim and Todd continue to live Ed's legacy with careers at State Farm.
Ed will always be remembered for his kind spirit, gentle smile, and dedication to his faith. He is finally healed and walking streets of gold.

If I had one wish it would have been to know Ed and Glenda more than just being friendly neighbors more on a personal level. They would become very good and close people you would want to be good neighbors.

Mr. Shambo would come in for breakfast on Sundays. A lot of times bringing a guest from church with them. He always had a bright smile and his personality was kind and welcoming. I know I will greatly miss you Mr. Shambo.

Ed was a Good Friend and Colleague for almost 60 years and I had the opportunity to know him well. His Character never Changed. He was Kind and considerate of others, Loved his Family, Friends and Associates and Was a Devout Christian. His Faith Never Wavered. Jan and I send our Sincere Condolences to Glenda, Jim, Todd and their Families.

It´s with a deep sense of sadness we received word of Ed´s passing. Knowing the pain and challenges Ed has faced in the past few years, we´re thankful he´s now in the loving arms of his Savior, and is in pain no longer.
I´ll always treasure the privilege and good fortune of being a friend and a brother in Christ. Over the years Ed served as a mentor and example to not only me, but to countless other men as well.
I pray for Ed and Glenda´s entire family, may these difficult days ahead overflow with precious memories of all the great times they´ve shared.

Ed was a special person. We rode motorcycles together and share stories. Everyone should have the faith and share it as Ed did. My sympathies to Glenda and the children.
