CUMBERLAND – Edward Wayne Siegmyer, 73, of Cumberland, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the Cumberland Healthcare Center.
Born October 9, 1951, in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Edward Inlow Siegmyer and Mary Phyllis (Preston) Valentine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Valentine; brothers, Charles "Chuck" Siegmyer and Robert Valentine; and sister, Sandra Lewis.
Ed attended Allegany, Fort Hill, and Beall High Schools and went on to be employed as a structural steel iron worker. As a member of the Piney Mt Sportsmens Association in Mt Savage, he lived for time spent hunting and fishing. Most of all, though, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine K. Siegmyer; children, Charles "Charlie" Siegmyer and girlfriend, Amber Sines, David Siegmyer and wife Patty, Timmy Siegmyer, and Russell Siegmyer and wife Jennifer; siblings, Janet Charlton and husband Terry, Verna Fisher and husband Ken, Larry Valentine and late wife Angie, and Mary "Sissy" Buskirk and boyfriend Chuck; a number grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Ed will be cremated, and there are no formal services scheduled at this time.
The family would like to thank the staff at Ruby Memorial Hospital, UPMC Western Maryland, UPMC Western Maryland Hospice Services, and ambulance crew.
