Paula Newton was born on Feb. 21, 1967, in Prince George Hospital in Cheverly, MD to Warren Leroy and Gloria Pardoe Newton, joining her older sister, Dawn Marie Newton to complete our family.
She went to Beach Elementary and graduated from Northern High in Dunkirk, MD in 1985 and immediately set out to explore and conquer the world. She loved rock music and she traveled all over the country, just she and her van, seeing and meeting most of the popular rock bands of the era, finding work and making friends as she traveled. She also attended most of the major motorcycle rallies across the country. She was adventurous and loved riding Harleys with the wind in her hair (before helmet requirements), but NO foreign bikes!
In 1998, she opened her own tanning and nail salon in North Beach, MD for several years and she thrived in learning about and practicing her love of the sun and meeting and interacting with people who became friends.
Paula followed her sister and parents to West Virginia in 2018 where she started working at the Highland Harley Davidson dealership in Somerset, PA where the owners became friends, as well as employers. She loved working there and found her niche in merchandise sales and interacting with the customers.
She also met her soulmate and love of her life, as well as Harley enthusiast, Dennis Delzell and they became life partners.
She loved people and made many wonderful, faithful friends wherever she went through the years, many since childhood. She was kind, caring and helpful to everyone she came in contact with. We will all miss that big, beautiful smile and wonderful laugh, but feel comforted that she is now in the arms of both of her fathers-earthly and heavenly.
She is survived by the love of her life, Dennis Delzell; her mother, Gloria Newton; sister, Dawn Newton Messinese; nephew and apple of her eye, Andrew Messinese; aunt, Lorraine Shephard; uncles, Dennis Pardoe and Robert Newton, and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Her family will hold a celebration of life at one of her favorite places, Abner's Crabhouse, in Chesapeake Beach, MD on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 1:00 p.m.
We will also hold another for her local friends, family and coworkers at a later date and destination, still undetermined, in the Cumberland area.
Our hearts are broken and we will miss you dear "Baby Girl".
