Obituary
Edward Smith, age 66 of Fremont, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, OH. Ed was born July 22, 1957, in Fremont, the son of the late Kenneth Smith and Wilma Mitchell (Henry).
After graduating from Clyde high school, Ed joined the United States Navy to serve his country. He was a hard worker and enjoyed boating, wood working and making people laugh. Ed was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.
Ed is survived by his daughters: Holly (Joe) Bollenbacher of Bellevue, and Ashley (Phillip) Jones of Columbus; grandchildren: Mason, Camden, Azlin, Paxton, and Pierson; siblings: Frank (Sharon) Smith, Tom (Nancy) Smith, and Deb (Jack) Bradfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his son, Jacob Smith; brother, Ken Smith; and significant other, Robin Fosnight.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 4:00pm until a memorial service and military honors beginning at 6:00pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410.
