Edward L. Sniezek, Sr., 94, of South New Castle Boro, passed away the morning of August 29, 2025 at home.
Edward was born in New Castle on January 1, 1931 to the late Joseph and Maryann (Madej) Sniezek.
He proudly served his Country as member of the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Edward had owned and operated Ed's Market in South New Castle Boro and worked in the Maintenance Department at Shenango High School. He later worked on the Road Crew Maintenance for South New Castle Boro. He enjoyed spending time outdoors; hunting, fishing, and gardening. Edward was a long-time member of Holy Spirit Parish.
Edward is survived by his children, Jane Ann Hozik (Richard), Edward L. Sniezek, Jr., Elaine Eiginger (Joe), Linda Rush (Artie), Jerry Jones (Audrey), and Joyce Moore; his longtime caregiver, Shirley Nocera, and a number of Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Jones; three brothers, John, Walter, and Frank Sniezek, two sisters, Helen Presnar and Laura Duzyk and his grandson, Christopher Rush.
A Blessing Service will be held at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home, 941 S. Mill St. on Friday, September 5th at 12 p.m. Deacon John Carran of Holy Spirit Parish will officiate. Interment will be at Madonna Cemetery.
