Edward C. Spaulding

Frankfort- Edward C. Spaulding, 87, passed away on Monday December 8, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born on July 13, 1938, the son of William and Velma (Whitcomb) Spaulding.
Edward enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He dropped out of school his 8th grade year telling a little white lie about his age and served his county. At the age of 50 Edward went back to school to earn his High School Diploma. He met the love of his life Glenyce Leach, and they were happily married for over 50 years until her passing in 2014.
Edward was an avid NASCAR fan. He also traveled to Speedway 95, the Unity track and the Oxford track to cheer on the drivers. He loved spending time with Glenyce traveling throughout the state, especially Greenville to find wildlife. He was always up for an adventure. He loved to spend quality time with his sons hunting and fishing. Edward was an avid gun collector. Another passion was teaching his grandchildren about his time serving in the Navy.
Edward is survived by his son's Scott Spaulding of Frankfort, Mark Spaulding and wife Debbie of NC, daughter Robin Roberts and husband Stacey of FL, daughter-in-law Robin Spaulding of Bangor. Grandchildren Kristina Spaulding and wife Alisha Spaulding of Holden, Kim Swan and husband Chris of Bucksport, Alexis Bryant and husband Matt of Brewer, Jonathan Spaulding of Bucksport, Dan Rainey and wife Sarah of Winterport, Kelly Crooker and husband Brandon of Winterport, Matt Spaulding and wife Ashley of Levant, and Haley Spaulding of Hampden. Along with many great-grandchildren. His sister Joann Bean of Winterport and Cousin Ruth Kroll of Verona Island. In addition to his parents Edward was predeceased by his wife and son Flint Spaulding.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service on May 2, 2026, at 11am at Searsport Apostolic Church 71 East Main Street burial will follow at Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
