Edward Perry “Eddie” Spencer, Jr., 76, a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, died Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
Graveside service will be conducted Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Santa Fe Cemetery with Reverend Jeff Kane officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Eddie was born on February 26, 1948 in Maury County, TN to the late Edward Perry Spencer, Sr. and Dolores Keltner Spencer. He graduated from Santa Fe School in 1968 and was drafted and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Eddie worked several years for General Electric and Smith Brothers Construction and enjoyed playing golf earlier in life.
Survivors include his sister Lucille Stanfield of Santa Fe; nephew Billy (Sarah) Johnson; three great nephews, Garrett Johnson, Josh (Brittany) Pewitt, and Tyler Saum; four great nieces, Dessa (Justin) Pewitt, Rose (Kevin) Lopp, Katelyn (Payne) McClanahan, and Rachel (Dalton) Tilghman; five great great nephews; and four great great nieces.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew James Pewitt.
Pallbearers will be Gary Gordon, Billy Johnson, Josh Pewitt, Danny Fox, Gary Maxwell and Kevin Lopp. Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Potts and Santa Fe Class of 1968.
