Edward Lawrence Steiner, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24th, 2025. He was born at home in White County, with no working electricity or plumbing, on July 29, 1940, the son of Frank and Mildred (Hatke) Steiner.
He was a graduate of Pine Township High School in Benton County in 1958. Ed was also very proud to serve his country as part of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. A dedicated member of the Serra Club of Tippecanoe County and a faithful blood donor, Ed's kindness was known by all.
He spent his entire working life as a farmer in Benton County, a profession he deeply loved. After having two children from his first marriage, he later married Eileen Rose (Benner Weisenberger) Steiner in 1981, blending their families with love and devotion. Ed was a great man, a wonderful father to his children and stepchildren, and a friend to all. He never knew a stranger, always greeting others with kindness and warmth, and as a devout Catholic, his faith guided him throughout his life.
Ed is survived by his children, Anne (Mick) Lumley, Sue (Matt) Gremelspacher, Ed (Cindy) Weisenberger, Jason (Stacey) Steiner, Neika (Jason) Smessaert, Tom (Stephanie) Steiner, and Matt (partner, Tommy Erickson) Steiner; his siblings, Dorothy Khatter, Cecelia Senesac, Marge Kirk, Doris Manleif, and Ken Steiner; thirteen beloved grandchildren, and three cherished great-grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; his siblings, Leo Steiner, Lou Steiner, Bernard "Bud" Steiner, Pauline Romanowski, Don Steiner, Ruth Long, and his stillborn baby brother.
Ed's kindness and light will be missed by all who knew him.
The rosary will be at 4:45 p.m., and visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3rd, 2025, at Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906.

Interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906.
