Edward Charles Tinberg, age 78, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2025 at his home. He was born January 15, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas, a son of William August and Mary (Armstrong) Tinberg.
Ed was raised in Bonner Springs, Kansas, graduated from Bonner Springs High School, and then Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. He served his country in the Vietnam War doing extensive duty in the central highlands as an Army medic. Back in the US, after a successful investing career, he moved to the Ozarks, building a house on the Lake in 1991. He enjoyed 34 some years of the lake experience. Ed was interested in many things, he read widely, was a great chef, and took amazing photos. In his later years, he spent time working with mentally challenged young men in various group homes in the area.
Ed was compassionate, easy going, friend to many, and will be missed.
He was a member of the Bonner Springs Christian Church in Bonner Springs. Kansas.
Survivors include two brothers, Rick Tinberg and wife Judith of Prairie Village, Kansas and Martin Tinberg and wife Carol of East Moline, Illinois; a nephew, Jon Tinberg of Sydney, Australia and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His family is planning a reception to celebrate Ed's life, from 2 to 4pm, Saturday, November 29th at the Harrington Family Event Center, 218 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS, 66012 (next to Alden-Harrington Funeral Home)
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
