Edward Valadao, age 67 of Taunton, passed away on October 11, 2025 at Morton Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Rebello) Valadao.
Ed was born in Taunton, the son of the late John M. and Margaret (Dupont) Valadao.
Edward was the President of the former Valadao Travel Agency.
Ed was a past president of the Holy Ghost Society of East Taunton, Taunton Rotary Club, Heart of Taunton, and Prince Henry Society and past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, former chair of the Taunton Parking Commission.
Ed enjoyed performing with the Southeastern Massachusetts Festival Chorus and for over twenty seasons and the Star Players where he was in multiple productions. He frequently traveled around the world and took trips with many of his friends he met while working as a travel agent. He enjoyed spending time with his children, especially their many day trips to Cape Cod. He loved spending time with his grandchildren any chance he got. Most of all, he loved the Holy Ghost of East Taunton. He helped with the Festa for over 60 years and never missed an opportunity to entertain during the auction.
Besides his beloved wife Kathleen of over 41years, Ed is survived by his loving children, Erica Valadao and Nicholas Valadao and his wife Erin. He was the proud grandfather of Edward “EJ” and Evelyn Valadao and brother of Maria Gomes and her husband Bradford along with many nieces and nephews.
Edward’s funeral will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 9:45 am from the Silva Funeral Home 80 Broadway (at saint Mary’s Square) Taunton, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am in Holy Family Church Middleboro Avenue, East Taunton.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 16th from 4 to 7pm in the Silva Funeral Home. Additional parking with handicap access is located on the North side of the funeral home.
