Edwin H. "Buddy" Blackburn, age 89, of Mena, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 11, 2025, in Mena.
He was born May 18, 1936, in Mena, Arkansas, to Harwell Blackburn and Estalene Murphy Blackburn. Buddy served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Buddy was in the auto sales industry, as well as a cattle rancher. Buddy was baptized in 1955 and was a faithful servant of God. He was a member of the First Assembly of God in Mena, Arkansas. He was a loving man with a big heart and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harwell and Estalene Blackburn; sisters, Alice Fay and Dorothy Jean; wife, Bonnie Blackburn; and nephew, Travis. Buddy is survived by his brother, Russell Blackburn of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; sisters, Wanda Barrow and husband Don of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sandy Edmondson and husband Larry of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; nephews, Trevitt and Kevin; niece, Donette; numerous great nieces, nephews and a host of friends and family. Buddy is also survived by his bonus family, the late Benny Parks, Kim Parks, Josh and Shanna Parks, Amber and Jamie Ralls and grandchildren, along with Bonita Flint and husband Jr.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God in Mena, Arkansas with Brothers Ron Tilley and Al Womack officiating. Interment will follow in the Pinecrest Memorial Park under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be Sam Waters, Pate Taylor, Russell Blackburn, Josh Parks, Danny Thrailkill, and Jamie Ralls. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Everett, Ron Riddle, Kenneth Cossey, Jr Flint, Dewayne Taylor and James Davis.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons.
