Edwin Philip Hamilton

Edwin Philip Hamilton, of Burke, Virginia, departed this life on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the age of 79. Edwin was surrounded by his loving family and left this world peacefully.

Edwin was born on July 1, 1946, to the late Noble Hamilton and Eulin Hamilton. A trailblazer from the start, he displayed a keen interest in aviation and law, which he pursued with vigor throughout his life. Edwin proudly graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, earning a degree in Aeronautical Law.

His commitment to his country was exemplary. Edwin served with distinction in the United States Navy for 27 and a half years, actively participating in the FA18 program. His dedication to the Navy and his love for jets were unparalleled, making him an esteemed member of the military community. An active member of the American Legion, Edwin continued to support his fellow veterans with pride and dedication.

Throughout his life, Edwin found joy in his work, his service to the Nation, and his boundless love for the sky. His legacy of service and passion serves as an inspiration to all who knew him.

Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carole Wells Hamilton, who stood by his side with unwavering devotion. He also leaves behind his cherished brother, Joseph "Joey" Hamilton, who was both his family and friend.

A service to honor and remember Edwin's remarkable life will be held at 12:30pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Friendship Baptist Church, Sylvania
