Edwin "Ted" Lewis Jr.

Edwin "Ted" Lewis, Jr., 68 of Fort Myers, FL passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 8, 2024. He was born February 16, 1956 in Dayton, OH the son of the late Edwin Ted and Frankie (Condurelis) Lewis, Sr. From the age of 15, Ted was raised in Fort Myers where he graduated from Cypress Lake High School before continuing his studies at the University of Florida.
His career as a general contractor started with his father at Lewis Masonry and Concrete, Inc., specializing in commercial masonry and concrete structural work. He started Tedco Corp in 2004, continuing to build schools, hospitals and commercial buildings throughout Lee, Collier and Charlotte counties.
Ted will be remembered as a die-hard fan of the Miami Dolphins while also rooting for his alma mater, the Florida Gators. He loved to cook and his true passion was his family and the weekly Sunday dinners they shared together, often including his children's friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 43 years, Melanie (Kruse) Lewis; loving children, Edwin Ted Lewis, III, Lindsey Lewis (Oklahoma Simms), Robert Lewis and Ashley Lewis, sister Linda (Felix) Lewis Menendez; nephews Michael and Matt, and cherished grandchildren, Saige, Layla, Landon, Ayden, Olivia and Luna, and all of Fort Myers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Shikany's Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 S. Tamiami Trail, Bonita Springs, FL 34134. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.
Entombment will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
