Edwin Marion Self, Jr. 97, of Warm Springs, GA passed away peacefully at home.

Mr. Ed, as many around Meriwether County knew him, was born March 25, 1928, in Warm Springs, GA the son of Edwin Marion Self, Sr. and Maggie Thompson Self. He retired from Georgia L P Gas after many years as a service man. He was the oldest living member of the First Baptist Church, Warm Springs, GA and served many years as a deacon and brotherhood director. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Mr. Self was on many of the church committees over the years. He served on the Warm Springs City Council for over 30 years and was a member of the Men's Club. He helped in the building of the ball field and community center. He is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings, and son Guy Aaron Self.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy Cook Self, Warm Springs, GA, son Edwin "Winn" (Janice) Self, III of Warm Springs, GA, daughter Gayle (Mike) Redden of Manchester, GA, grandchildren Edwin " Ed" Marion (Alyssa) Self, IV of Eatonton, GA, Libby (Matt) NeSmith of Statesboro, GA, Emily(Kenneth) Probst of Alexander City, AL, Michael Redden, Cordele, GA, Morgan Redden and Joy Redden both of Manchester, GA, Jill Wood of Tallahassee, FL, ten great-grandchildren along with extended family Dorothy's children Debra Kominsky and Dennis (Jennifer) Bassett all of Geneva and their children, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Self will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Warm Springs, GA. The family will receive friends from 1:00-200PM at the church prior to the service. Burial will be private in the Warm Springs City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in memory of Mr. Edwin M. Self, Jr. to the First Baptist Church, Warm Springs Building Fund P. O. Box 383 Warm Springs, GA 31836.
