Edwin “Ed” Eugene Spray, 81, of Michigantown, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 4, 1944, in Frankfort to Paul and Eunice (Godby) Spray. He married Sharon Chandler on May 13, 1967, and she survives.
Ed was a 1962 graduate of Frankfort Senior High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked as a journeyman pipefitter for Alcoa and then Chrysler from where he retired in 2002. Ed enjoyed restoring classic cars inside and out. He could often be found taking his 1933 Dodge, 1954 Chevy, 1955 Sedan Delivery to car shows and swap meets. He was an animal lover, and enjoyed his dogs and cats, especially Bella, his “best friend.” He was a family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Along with his wife of 58 years, Ed is survived by his children, David (Traci) Spray, John (Benecia) Spray, Jason (Sherry Illges) Spray; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, John Spray, Rex Spray, Diane Bodish, Emily Lahee, grandchildren, Chance Andrew Spray and Kelly Borkowski.
Memorial visitation will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 12pm until the time of the memorial service at 3pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort. Pastor Jim Spaulding will officiate. Burial will follow at Whiteman Cemetery with military rites performed by Clinton County Honor Guard. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
