Edwina Doris Albanese Burd 1934-2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved and cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Edwina Doris Albanese Burd on March 4, 2025. Edwina was born to Anthony and Louise Albanese on July 13, 1934, in Gloversville, New York. She attended and graduated from Gloversville High School in 1952. Edwina was married to James Gardner Burd in 1955. Her children, grandchildren, and family members were her pride and joy. She always said her children were her most dear treasures. Her family felt her love and support till the end. Her family will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
Edwina is profoundly mourned by her children; James (Rotha) Burd, Lisa Burd, Kathryn (Paul) Brindle, and Rebecca Burd. Grandchildren; Marybeth (Justin) Mather, Karina Burd, Anthony (Shannon) Burd, Luke Brunettoburd, Devin Brunettoburd, Bram Burd, Raylin Burd, and Sydney Burd.Greatgrandchildren; Nicholas (Karsyn) Mills, Julia (Nicholas) Bocchino, Noah (Hailey) Mills, and Jacob (Alexis) Mills. Great-Great­ grandchildren; Brenna Mills, Emma Mills, Thea Mills, Rhylea Mills, Giavanna Bocchino, and Aurelius Bocchino. Siblings; Martha Monlea and Christopher Albanese. Nieces and Nephews; Melinda (Dwayne) Rockenstyre, Ramon (Christine) Monlea, Michelle Monlea, Christopher (Bridget) Monlea, Mark Albanese Jr., Aaron Albanese, Jules Monlea, Dwayne Rockenstyre Jr., Zachary Rockenstyre, Ramon Monlea Jr., and Austin Monlea. A very loved cousin; Marion Cavanagh. Many other relatives were loved by Edwina.
Edwina was preceded in death by her parents Anthony and Louise Albanese, husband James G. Burd, son J. Gardner Burd and brother Mark D. Albanese.
Mass will be held at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church 1241 State St., Schenectady, N.Y. on Tuesday March 11, 2025, at 1pm.
